Obituary of Nancy K. Burrows

Port Allegany - Nancy K. Burrows, 81, of Port Allegany, passed away Tuesday (April 12, 2022) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport.

 

She was born February 3, 1941 in Port Allegany, the daughter of William Painter and Ada (Hardes) Painter .  On March 20, 1982, in Eldred, PA, she married David D. Burrows, who died in 2021.

 

Nancy attended Port Allegany High School and was employed as an in home nurse in the area for many years with the McKean County VNA.

 

She loved to bake and especially spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and collecting cook books.

 

She is survived by:

one daughter: Kimberly Evans of Langhorne, PA,

two sons: Jeff (Dana) Backus of  Eustis, FL and Gary (Tammy) Backus of East Amherst, NY

12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren

one sister: Elaine Ernst of Port Allegany

and several nieces and nephews

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly J. Backus, on September 20, 2017.

 

Following Nancy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.

 

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Port Allegany Ambulance Service or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.
