Obituary of Lionel D. Ordiway

Smethport - Lionel D. “Skip” Ordiway, 86, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (May 29, 2022) at Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

 

He was born October 29, 1935 in Rew, the son of Willard Ordiway and Lydia (Baker) . On July 5, 1963, in Essex, Maryland, he married Doris E. Schofield, who died December 25, 2016.

 

Skip worked at Case Cutlery in Bradford, PA.  He worked in every department in his career of 50 years.  His last years of employment were in the repair shop. 

 

He was a member and fireman for the Rew Fire Department for many years, as well as a member of the Fire Police.  He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

 

He is survived by:

Five step children: Eleanor Montgomery, William (Sandra) Ford and Gerald (Cheryl Razey) Ford, all of Smethport, Patricia (Bruce) Moses of Port Allegany, and Phyllis (Chuck) Richardson of Olean, NY

Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

One sister:  Bertha “Bert” (Harold) Beckwith of Jackson, TN

And several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jeramie Ford and Damon Moses, four brothers and four sisters.

 

In keeping with Skip’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.  Burial will be in Bells Run Cemetery, Shinglehouse, PA.
