Obituary of Mona L. Fowler

 

Port Allegany - Mona Lee Fowler, 72, of Port Allegany passed away at the UPMC Cole Hospital on August 20, 2022.  Born February 6, 1950 in Port Allegany, she was the daughter of John Ward Fowler and Ida Jane Peters.

Mona was a 1969 graduate of Port Allegany High School and a lifelong resident of Port Allegany. She was employed at Ethan Allen for 35 years.

Facing many adversities throughout her life, she held her head high and lived life on her terms.  Mona was active with many various clubs.  She was a member of the VFW auxiliary, the Glamorous Gatorettes Red Hats, the Birthday Club, the Little Genesee Quilting Club, and the She Shed Quilting Club in Port Allegany.  She also volunteered at the Port Allegany Senior Center.

She was a kind and caring soul who would help others if she was able.  She was independent, fun and loving.  Mona spread her love and laughter everywhere she went. 

Left to mourn her passing are many relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be no public visitation.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice, and to also be courteous, empathetic and kind, and to treat others with respect.
