Obituary of Frances Patricia Rogge

Smethport - Frances Patricia Duffy Rogge, 95, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (August 28, 2022) at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.

 

She was born August 24, 1927 in Smethport, the daughter of Francis and Margaret Hubbard Duffy. On June 17, 1950, in Smethport, she married Robert Elliot Rogge, who died December 14, 2007.

 

Frances graduated from Smethport High School. She worked as a civil servant for the U.S. Government.

 

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Church of Smethport, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Smethport Garden Club.

 

She is survived by:

Three daughters:  Roberta Anne Kammer of Kerrville, TX, Patricia Anne Thomas of Abingdon, MD, and Margaret Elizabeth Rogge-Shepherd of Bradenton, FL

Two grandchildren:  Molly Erin Thomas and Laura Michelle Antonucci

One sister:  Mary Elizabeth Dibble of Smethport

A plethora of nieces and nephews, along with grandnieces and grandnephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by a son, Roderick Elliot Rogge on June 3, 2020, two brothers, William Owen and James McKean Duffy, and one sister, Julia Suzanne Fink.

 

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 10 AM in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport.    Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport.
