Port Allegany - Linda D. Shaffer, 66, of Port Allegany, passed away Sunday (June 11, 2023) at her residence.

She was born November 18, 1956 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Rex B.and Doris (Higgins) Galentine.

Linda worked as a custodian for the Coudersport School District.

She loved playing Bingo, going to the Casino, spending time with her family and shopping.

She is survived by:

Her longtime companion: Earl “Butch” Burdick of Port Allegany

Two daughters: Stacy Vaughan and Holly Thomas, both of Austin, PA

Seven grandchildren: Skyler Shaffer, Zackary Thomas, Brent DeFranco, Kaylee Thomas, Dalton Hilger, Dylan Hilger and Dakota Hilger

Four great grandchildren: Skylynn Shaffer, Emberly Snyder, D.J. Thomas and Gabriel Lanniger

Three brothers: Robert (Gloria) Galentine of Port Allegany, Allen (Virginia) Galentine of Sevierville, TN, and Gene (Barbara) Galentine of Stoystown, PA

Four sisters: Lori Freer of Eldred, Evelyn Winters of Red Lion, PA, Brenda (Jack) Shaw of Red Lion, PA, and Jane (Sam) Ruth of Boquete, Panama, Central America.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hilger; one brother, Larry Galentine; one sister, Carol Daniels

There will be no visitation. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.
