Obituary of Shirley Ann Raught

Smethport - Shirley Ann Raught, 85, of Smethport, died Wednesday (January 10, 2024) at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.

 

She was born July 1, 1938 in Bryan, PA, the daughter of Parks and Blanche (Tonkin) Hall. On January 20, 1957, in Mt. Jewett, PA, she married Richard Allen Raught, who died February 9, 2018.

 

Shirley was 1957 graduate of Kane High School.  She was the secretary for Hamlin Township for 45 years before retiring.

 

Shirley was a life member of the Hamlin Twp. Fire Department and was a huge NASCAR fan.  She loved playing Bingo and traveling to the Casino.  She was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

 

She is survived by:

Two sons: Gary (Jan) Raught and Tim (Casey) Raught, both of Smethport

3 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, and 13 great-grandchildren

One sister: Pat (Bill) Swartzfager of West Henrietta, NY

And several nieces and nephews

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Jean Housler, and a sister, Judy Loney.

 

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
