Poweska, 67, of Coudersport, formally of Port Allegany, died Friday (March 26, 2010) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. She was born Aug 5, 1942 in Portville, a daughter of the Jerome and Sarah Howard Swartz, In 1973 in Bradford, she married Alvin L. Poweska, who died 9-01-2002. She is survived by two daughters: Sarah Louise Fiske of Bradford, PA, Paula Swartz of Eldred, PA four sons: Frank R. Skinner of Port Allegany, PA, Charles L. Skinner of Mt. Jewett, PA, Carl L. Skinner of Port Allegany, PA, and John Poweska of Little Genesee, NY 17 Grandchildren and many great grandchildren three sisters: Lillian Rice of Derry, PA, Pearl Hoknson of Bradford, PA, and Beatrice Holtzapple of York, PA two brothers: Jerome Swartz of Jamestown, NY, Duncan Swartz of Frewsburg, NY She was preceded in death by her parents, husband a son, Alvin Poweska, Jr., a grand daughter, and 4 brothers and 1 sister. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery, Tionesta PA Arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, Port Allegany.
