Port Allegany - Catherine J. Sherwood, 77, of Eldred, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday (June 8, 2024) at her home.

She was born April 22, 1947 in Waverly, NY, the daughter of Elmer and Edith (Bailey) Beach. On May 29, 1993, in Newell Creek, she married Delaney D. Sherwood, who survives.

Mrs. Sherwood was a homemaker tending to the needs of her family.

She enjoyed crocheting and cooking.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:

Two sons: John (Lisa) Shepherd of Liberty, PA and Daniel (Vicky) Shepherd of Elmira, NY

Two step daughters: Melissa (Dave) White of Pittsburgh and Cindy D. (Sam) Mixter of Smethport

Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren

Two sisters: Evelyn (Harry) Brown and Peggy Briggs, both of Florida

And several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild.

In keeping with Catherine’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.
