Smethport - Judith A. “Judi” Olson, 72, of Smethport, passed away Wednesday (September 4, 2024) at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.

She was born May 31, 1952 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Richard and Mary (Villella) Rifle. On June 10, 1972, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, she married James Daniel Olson, who died March 28, 2008.

Judy was graduate of Smethport Area High School and had worked at Hamlin Bank & Trust Co. in positions as bank manager and loan officer. She retired from Hamlin in 2014 after 44 years of dedicated employment.

She enjoyed reading and frequenting the library. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by:

One daughter: Tara M. (Lori Gleason) Olson of Smethport

One son: Matthew J. (Jessica) Olson of Latrobe, PA

Two grandchildren: Bailey and Leah Olson

One sister: Joan Mong of Seneca, PA

One brother: Steve Rifle of Columbia, PA

And several nieces and nephews

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 10AM to noon at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral and committal services will be held at noon, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Clermont Cemetery.
