Obituary of Beatrice L. Johnson

Smethport - Beatrice L. Johnson, 98, of Olean, formerly of Farmers Valley, died Sunday (April 11, 2010) in the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Olean. She was born Apr 14, 1911 in Smethport, a daughter of Frank and Lorena Acre Canfield. In 1933, in Farmers Valley, she married Donald P. Johnson, who died October 24, 1964. Mrs. Johnson attended Farmers Valley Schools and was a Homemaker. She is survived by: Two daughters: Betty (Thomas) Kightlinger of Olean, NY and Nancy Burdick of Inverness, FL 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. One sister: Marybelle Greek of Lewis Run PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters; Maisie Norgrove and Dolores Rensel, 2 brothers; Floyd Canfield and Nolan Canfield, 2 sisters; Gladys Wayman and Violet Canfield, and 1 grand daughter. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 10-11AM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will begin at 11:00 am with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
