Smethport - Bruce L. Leet, 85, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (November 3, 2024) at the Bradford Manor, Bradford.

He was born July 15, 1939 in Weston Mills, NY, the son of James and Gladys (VanGorder) Leet . On March 30, 1968, in Mt. Jewett, PA, he married Leola Fay Keller, who survives.

Mr. Leet was a 1957 graduate of Smethport High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. He worked for the PA Dept. of Transportation.

Bruce was an avid hunter and bowler. He was a family man and loved his grandchildren very much. He was a member of the McKean Lodge #388 F&AM of Smethport, the Smethport Fire Department, the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport, a life member of the Keating Sportsman Club and a life member of the NRA. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in his leisure.

In addition to his wife, Fay, he is survived by:

Two daughters: Catherine E. (Scott) Larson and Denise F. (Craig) Erickson, both of Smethport

Five grandchildren: Brianna Leet, Jorden Erickson, Allysa Larson, Haleigh Larson and Joshua “Squirrel” Erickson

One brother: Gary Leet of Gifford

And several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Beck and Janice Williams, and one brother, Kenneth Leet.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, from 11AM to 1PM at Hilltop Baptist Church, Route 646, Gifford, where funeral and committal services will begin at 1PM in the church with the Rev. Max Simms, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 Honor Guard.
