Obituary of Glenn W. Dibble

Smethport- G.W. "Bill" Dibble, (a.k.a "Mr. Terrible"), 88, of Smethport, died Monday (May 10, 2010). He was born Aug 1, 1921 in Rixford, a son of William Jackson and Blanche Belle Miller Dibble. On Aug.1, 1953, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, he married Mary Elizabeth Duffy who survives. Mr. Dibble attended Rixford grade school and was a graduate of Otto Eldred High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII, and the USAF during the Korean conflict and Vietnam. Mr. Dibble worked as a machine operator/crystal cutter at Penn Silco of Bradford, PA. He was part of Myra's Morning Club at Myra's Restaurant, Smethport. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by 8 children: five daughters: Suzan E. (Dana) Todd of Houston, TX, Margaret B. (Jerry) Vandermark of Cyclone, PA, Patricia Lu (Donald) Vandermark of Farmers Valley, PA, Julie C. (Fernando) Montijo of Phoenix , AZ, and Carol Dibble of Smethport, PA three sons: Peter D.(Bormey) Dibble of Phoenix, AZ, J. Patrick Dibble of Chicago, IL, Kevin L. (Jill) Dibble of Smethport, PA 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren one sister: Mildred Adsit of Sherbourne, NY one brother: Aden Miller of Bradford, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 siblings. Honoring Bill's request, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date and time to be announced at St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
