Smethport- Ruth J. Petteys, 69, of Smethport, died unexpectedly, Wednesday (May 12, 2010) at her residence. She was born May 2, 1941 in Monticello, NY. On July 24, 1973, in Limestone, NY, she married Raymond Petteys, Sr., who died March 14, 2009. Mrs. Petteys attended Monticello, NY schools, and was a homemaker. She is survived by two daughters: Nellie Cook of Bradford, PA, Bertha Ackley of NC one son: James Karnes of Rew, PA Step Sons: Raymond (Linda) Petteys, Jr. of Port Allegany, Matthew Petteys of Port Allegany, PA, Step Daughters: Mary Ellen DeCarlo of Port Allegany, PA, Debra Rae Salter of Port Allegany, PA, Beth Howard of Port Allegany, PA. 6 grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, and one brother At Mrs. Petteys request, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
