Obituary of Millicent Jean Mejia

Smethport - Millicent Jean Cosper Mejia, 83, of North Versailles, formerly of Smethport, died Tuesday (September 14, 2010) in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. She was born Oct 25, 1926 in Keating Twp., a daughter of Floyd and Kathryn Munch Cosper. On Nov. 14, 1958, in Gambrills, Maryland, she married Gilberto Mejia, who died March 16, 2002. Mrs. Mejia was a graduate of Smethport Area High School and was a PFC (T) (E-3) in the U.S. Army, as a WAC, serving from 1957 to 1959. Mrs. Mejia was employed by Lakeview Sr. Care and Living Center, Smethport, in laundry and food service. She is survived by one son: G. Fred (Laurie) Mejia of Murrysville, PA one daughter: Mary Mejia of North Versailles, PA step daughter: Doris Abbey of Coudersport, PA grandsons: Fredrick, Aaron, and Andrew Mejia. one sister: Kathryn Shay of Portville, NY In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 17, at 1:00 pm from the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.
