Obituary of Jean Elaine Donato

Smethport- Jean Elaine "Mean Jean" Donato, 78, of Smethport, died Sunday (September 19, 2010) in the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford. She was born May 26, 1932 in Mt. Jewett, a daughter of Howard and Cora Douglas Johnson. On July 16, 1960, in Cyclone, PA, she married Joseph Donato, who died in August 1968. Mrs. Donato was a graduate of Mt. Jewett Schools and worked for the PA Dept. of Transportation as a truck driver and had also worked as a cook at the Smethport Area High School. She was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church, and volunteered at the Hamlin Memorial Library in Smethport. She is survived by three daughters: Cora Jean (Chris) Alexander of Franklinton, NC, Diana (Bob) Carnegie of Bradford, PA, Rose (Chet) Sanders of Madison, AL one son: Douglas (Sue) Johnson of Oil City, PA; 4 step daughters: Beverly Taylor, Gloria Barns, Gladys Hannah, Ann Wyer 4 step sons: Fred, Jim, Frank, and Danny Donato Grandchildren: Mike, Patti, Misty, Christian Jr., Hank, Brandie, and BJ; 5 Great Grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren one sister: Kathleen (Jim) Fitzsimmons of Cyclone, PA two brothers: Clark (Judy) Johnson of Eldred, PA, and Larry (Sandy) Johnson of Clearfield, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 1 step son, Anthony Donato. At Mrs. Donato's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 24, at 2 PM from the Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Bridge View Cemetery, Mt.
