Obituary of Linda Burdick

Port Allegany- Linda Burdick, 69, of Port Allegany, died Wednesday (September 22, 2010) in the Hamot Medical Center, Erie. She was born Sept. 8, 1941 in Coudersport, a daughter of Ervin and Judith Carlson Manning. On July 5, 1968, in Port Allegany, she married Jack L. Burdick, who died November 21, 2005. Mrs. Burdick was a 1959 graduate of Port Allegany High School and attended Alderson Broaddus College, where she graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Mrs. Burdick was employed as a staff nurse at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA, and ultimately by the Port Allegany Community Hospital until its closure. She was a member of the Port Allegany Nurse's Club and the Northern Tier Chapter of Penn State Alumni. She is survived by: Daughter: Bonnie L. Burdick of Port Allegany Son: Paul A. (Michelle) Burdick of Coudersport Two grandchildren: Derek and Nicole Burdick and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Charles Manning, on March 14, 2005. There will be no visitation. A Memorial service will be announced at a later date and time. Memorials may be made to the Port Ambulance Service or the Port Allegany Library Building Fund.
