Smethport - Mary J. Probert, 79, of Smethport, died Friday (November 19, 2010) in the Lakeview Senior Care & Living Ctr., Smethport. She was born July 1, 1931 in Delevan, NY, a daughter of Robert and Sophia Mohar Kordish. On June 14, 1952, in Portville, NY, she married Irwin R. "Ray" Probert, who died February 3, 2003. Mrs. Probert was a graduate of Portville High School and worked for the USDA in Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Services as Program Assistant, in Smethport. She retired after 37 years of service to the USDA in 1989. She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Smethport. She is survived by two daughters: Rosemary A. (Ed) Dean of Smethport, and Linda A. Probert of Plantation, FL two Grandsons: Craig E. Dean and Cory R. Dean two sisters: Helen Kordish and Elizabeth Sebourn both of Rochester, NY two brothers: Richard Kordish, and Robert Kordish, both of Rochester, NY Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 10 A.M. in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor as Celebrant.
