Obituary of Virginia Olive F. Taylor

Smethport - Virginia Olive F. Taylor, 86, of Gifford, died Monday (January 10, 2011) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford. She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Candor, NY, a daughter of Harry and Alice Fields. On Nov. 2, 1941, in Wellsville, NY, she married John G. Taylor, Jr., who died August 23, 1997. Mrs. Taylor was a housewife tending to the needs of her family. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping, fishing, and watching television. She is survived by one daughter: Judy A. Spaulding of Gifford, PA three sons: Terry L. Taylor of Little Genessee, NY; Leonard L. Taylor of Aiken, PA; and John G. Taylor, III of Enterprise, AL 9 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren Brother in law: William (Faye) Taylor of Gifford Sister in law: Dorothy "Dot" Kenneson of Coleville And several nieces and nephews In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon M. Confer. There will be no visitation. A Remembrance Gathering will be held on Sunday, Jan. 16, from 2-6 PM at the Hilltop Fire Hall. All are invited and encouraged to bring a dish to pass and share memories of Virginia's life with the family. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
