Obituary of Hester Marie Kinney

Port Allegany - Hester Marie Pittman-Kinney, 84, of Port Allegany, died at home Monday (August 13, 2012) after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug 17, 1927 in Allegany, NY, a daughter of Frank and Hester Grandusky Pittman. On December 20, 1947, at St. Bonaventure Church, Allegany, NY, she married Orton Kinney, who survives. Mrs. Kinney was a 1944 graduate of Allegany High School of Allegany, NY and attended West Brook Academy of Olean, NY. She was a homemaker tending to the needs of her family. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Church, Port Allegany and St. Gabriel's Catholic Women's Club. She loved children, dogs, and flowers of all kinds. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Kris (Robert) Zoll of Mechanicsburg, PA and Mary Beth Kinney of Port Allegany four sons: Daniel (Sandra) Kinney, Fred Kinney, William (Debra) Kinney, and Alan (JoElla) Kinney, all of Port Allegany 9 grandchildren four sisters: Caroline (Duane) Clark of Allegany, NY, Violet (Andrew) Garcia of Houston, TX, Mary (Wally) Glover of Niagara Falls, NY, Marlene (Leon) Collins of Allegany, NY one brother: William (Cherie) Pittman of Allegany, NY, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am Friday in St Gabriel's Catholic Church, Port Allegany, with the Rev. James Campbell, Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Portage Valley Cemetery, Wrights.
