Jim was a great friend and a fine lawyer. He could always be counted on whenever a friend was in need. Jim was a sportsman of the finest kind and I enjoyed our times together.

Just wanted to say "thanks" to Mr. Angell for treating my wife, kids, and I so kindly while visiting at the Placer camp last summer following the untimely death of my father. The conversations were great (especially the PSU vs. Syracuse chats), and my kids especially enjoyed fishing off your dock.
Sincerely, David, Melanie, Taylor and Arik Shildt

Jim and I have been friends for over sixty years and I will always miss him. I'm in the process of compiling Jim Angell stories, most of which are humorous. Those vignettes are mostly for Quinn and Kirk. Most of us will leave behind memories of who we were and of our good attributes. Few of us leave a collection of specific stories. I now have at least 20 that I'm writing and there are probably dozens of other "classic" Jim Angell stories out there.
As sad as it was, getting to spend some quality time with Jim a few days before he passed on has had a profound impact on me and leaves me with gratitude for the opportunity to say "goodbye" to a very special friend. To me if there is one word that to me best describes Jim is the word unforgetable.
Rest in peace, old friend.

Quinn, Kirk, Donna and family; with deepest, heartfelt sympathy, I hope you can find peace and comfort in your memories. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Jim. He was very special to me. We shared 12 years of our lives together. We both loved and learned alot during that time. God bless you all and keep you well.

I will always remember Jim. We had a very fun happy relationship in the good ol days at SHS. I learned how to spot deer, gig frogs, and travel the adventerous roads around all those surrounding back hills of Smethport. I also learned to drive a car on that old stick shift Jeep of Aunt Mary's. Sometimes we would double date with his brother, Bill and my sister, Kay.
Jim was always ready for a party back in the early days also where he and Bill made a rumpus room down stairs in that house which recently burned down. As I recall, they put in knotty pine paneling and shared the room with many friends for pizza parties over the years. "The hills were alive" with the smells of pizza made by one of the neighbors up there. The most wonderful pizza ever eaten.
Jim is probably already planning a big pizza party for when myself, and all other classmates and friends join him. I do love thse country boys:
"Those were the days my friend. We thought they would never end."
Fond memories......Joann Boswick Hickey Clark

Jim was a great family friend. All of us Nannen's at one time or another had a fun time with Jim. Be it a f1 party at his house, a trip to Germany or just stopping by, Jim was always looking for a fun time. I will never watch Syracuse or an F1 race again without thinking of him.
