Obituary of Donald E. Kupper

Port Allegany- Donald E. Kupper, 89, of Port Allegany, died Monday (May 9, 2011) in the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. He was born March 17, 1922 in Pittsburgh, a son of August and Anna Keifner Kupper. Mr. Kupper was a 1940 graduate of Port Allegany High School. He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army, serving during WWII from 1942 to 1945. Mr. Kupper was a tank operator employed by Pittsburg Corning of Port Allegany, PA for 40 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of VFW Post #6391, Port Allegany, and the American Legion Frank Burt Post #258, Port Allegany. He is survived by One nephew, Martin E. Painter of Port Allegany, 3 nieces, Sandra M. Hammed of Olean, NY; Cheryl E. O'Brien of Clarksville, TN; Edna M. Painter of Perry, NY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 -11am at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 A.M. with the Rev. John Baney, pastor of the Keating Summit Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Portage Valley Cemetery, Wrights. Military Honors will be accorded by the Port Allegany Honor Guard.
