Obituary of James W. Eaton

Smethport- James W. Eaton, Jr., 78, of Smethport, formerly of Eldred, died Wednesday (May 18, 2011) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. He was born Jan 20, 1933 in Olean, NY, a son of James W. and Genevieve Viola Clark Eaton, Sr. On June 9, 1956, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, he married Reta M. Eaton, who died November 19, 2000. Mr. Eaton was a graduate of Otto Township High School and was a Corporal in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Eaton was a machine operator, employed by Dresser-Rand, Olean, NY, retiring in 1992. James was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by two daughters: Cheryl (Virgil, Jr.) Eaton Graham of Eldred, PA, Judianne Eaton of Bradford, PA two sons: James B. (Cheryl) Eaton of Warren, PA, Charles Eaton of Groveland, FL 6 grandchildren: Nichol (Patrick) Moses, Virgil Graham, III, Holden Graham, Braden Graham, Ryan VonBergen, and Zoe VonBergen. 1 Great Grandchild: Liam Moses one brother: Lawrence "Larry" Eaton of Eustus, FL, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon C. Eaton. Visitation will be held privately with the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 21, at 10 AM, in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, McKean County, PO Box 67, 56 Thompson Ave., Bradford, PA 16701, or to the American Heart Association.
