Obituary of Charles Doyle Taylor

Betula - Charles Doyle Taylor, 63, of Betula, PA, passed away Tuesday (January 15, 2013), after a lengthy illness. He was born August 29, 1949 in Kane, a son of Harold W. and Cinderella L. Herzog Taylor. Mr. Taylor attended Smethport Area High School and was a 1968 graduate of Blue Mt. Academy of Hamburg, PA. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, from 1969 to 1971. He enjoyed his farm in Betula and was an avid hunter and trapper. He was a winner of the Triple Trophy Award, and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by one daughter: Suzanne (Richard) Taylor Kave of Ranson, WV five sisters: Linda K. St. John of Washington, D.C., Joan L. Taylor of Bakerton, WV, Sandra Lee Holt of Knoxville, TN, Lu Ann Shadman of Oakton, VA, Michele Ziafatmadary of Rockville, MD five brothers: Floyd A. Taylor of Bakerton, WV, Harold J. Taylor of Shepherdstown, WV, David L. Taylor of Taylorsville, NC, Robert D. Taylor of Manassas, VA, Daniel W. Taylor of Kearneysville, WV and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 10-11 A.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 11 A.M., Saturday, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.
