Obituary of Betty A. Lathrop

Crosby - Betty A. Lathrop, 54, of Crosby, died Sunday (July 10, 2011) in the Lakeview Senior Care & Living Ctr., Smethport. She was born Aug 15, 1956 in DuBois, a daughter of George and Betty Alders Bullers. She was raised by her foster parents, James and Dorothy Mumford. On November 27, 1981, in Smethport, PA, she married Ellsworth B. "Bones" Lathrop, who survives. Mrs. Lathrop was a graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School and was a housewife. She was a member of American Legion; John Berg Post #976 Auxillary of Crosby, and the Norwich Township Fire Dept. of Crosby. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Her mother: Betty Bullers Foster mother: Dorothy Mumford of Brookville, PA step sons: John (Cindy) Lathrop of Rixford, PA; Joseph (Deborah) Lathrop of Sinking Springs, PA; Charles (Gail) Lathrop of Crosby, PA step daughter: Sally Bennett of Reading, PA 5 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren three sisters: Sandra Baker of Betula, PA, Shirley of Reynoldsville, PA, and Christine of Oklahoma two brothers: George Bullers of Oklahoma, and Timothy Mumford of DuBois, PA, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and foster father. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will be held on Wednesday, at 11 A.M., with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
