Port Allegany - Sandra L. Stake, 69, of Port Allegany, died Friday (October 21, 2011) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov 11, 1941 in Coudersport, a daughter of George and Coral Coon Church. On November 1, 1969 in Roulette, PA, she married Theodore Stake Jr., who survives. Mrs. Stake was a 1959 graduate of Port Allegany High School and a1963 graduate Penn State University with a degree in Zoology. Mrs. Stake spent 2 years in the Peace Corps before returning to this area where she taught in several of the local schools. She then worked as Activity Director, employed by Lakeview Senior Care and Living Center, formerly Stone's Manor in Smethport, PA for more than 30 years retiring in 2003. Mrs. Stake was a member of St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, Port Allegany. She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Two daughters: Heather (Bryan) Bartels of Thomasville, NC, Serena (Kurt) Boylstein of Harrisburg, PA Three sons: Theodore (Holly) Stake III and Nathan (Tara) Stake, both in Germany and Jason (Kari) Stake of Port Allegany, PA 8 grandchildren: Taylor, Hailey, Ayla, Cadence, Mikya, Rory, Kason, and Jared One sister: Beulah Meyer Several nieces and nephews Mrs. Stake was preceded in death by her parents' one brother Anton Fatur and one sister Shirley Bartholomee Visitation will be held on Friday October 28, 2011 from 10AM to 11 AM at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA, at which time funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with the Rev.
