Obituary of Mary Louise Coatsworth

Port Allegany - Mary Louise Coatsworth, 90, of Bradford , died Wednesday (October 26, 2011) in the Bradford Manor, Bradford. She was born March 31, 1921 in Port Allegany, a daughter of William J. "Dickie" and Elsie B. "Baba" Nancarrow Kelly. On May 2, 1942 in Olean, NY, she married Thomas W. Coatsworth, who died September 14, 1998. Mrs. Coatsworth was a 1939 graduate of Port Allegany High School and attended Brooks Academy, now Olean Business Institute, in Olean, NY. Mrs. Coatsworth was a Librarian employed by the University of Pittsburgh, Bradford. She retired in 1986. She was a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the hospital auxiliary when she lived in New Castle, PA. Since living in Bradford, she loved to work in her garden and enjoyed sewing. She is survived by two daughters: Karen Louise Allwood of Bradford, PA and Joan Louise Coatsworth of Kennesaw, GA one son: Scott W. (Kathy) Coatsworth of Pittsburgh, PA two Grandchildren: Nicole (Dan) Coatsworth Ricketts and Todd Coatsworth three Great Grandchildren: Autumn Rebecca, Brenna Elizabeth, and Dominic In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Harriett "Pat" Dryer and Christine "Betty" Mains, and 1 brother: Frederick "Bill" Kelly. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 3 P.M., at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, Port Allegany, with the Rev. Randall Headley, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 110 W. 10th St. Suite 212, Erie, PA 16501-6296.
