Obituary of James Dale Snyder

Smethport - James Dale Snyder, 69, of Betula, PA and Pinellas Park, FL, died Wednesday (December 14, 2011) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. He was born Oct 4, 1942 in Massillon, OH, a son of Dale D. and Doris M. Smith Snyder. On Oct. 25, 1964, in Canton, OH, he married Joanne "Joni" Marie Gipp, who survives. Mr. Snyder served in the U. S. Army. He operated Jim's Gulf, which became Jim and Dale's Auto Repair, as an auto mechanic until 1986. He and his wife also owned and operated the Smethport Diner for 7 years. He and Joanne currently owned and operated J.J. Snyder Food Concessions. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son: James David (Sue) Snyder of Akron, OH one daughter: Julianne Marie (Rodney) Creed of Olean , NY granddaughters: Ioana Snyder and Jordan Creed Grandson: Gannon Creed Step Grandson: Josh (Angie) Creed one brother: Thomas L. Snyder of Scottsdale, AZ He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no public visitation or services. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the McKean County Hospice and VNA.
