Mrs.Irons was my 4th grade teacher .No other teacher in my life made the impact that she did.She would ask me to pray before lunch often and she was quick to give hugs.I was a fatherless boy in her class until my step father came along. After just one year he was killed in a logging accident.I was in the next grade up when it happened she heard about it and came straight to my house after school she sat on the couch with me and held me and cried with me while I wept bitterly for my loss.I have never forgotten the love she showed me at a very very difficult time in my life.God finally needed her more.

The very first time we met Vernice, she opened her heart to us. What a kind-hearted and wonderful lady. We will miss her.

My thoughts and prayers to the family. I am so glad I got to see Vernice while she was in Lakeview and let her know that I loved her and let her know what an inspiriation she was to me...as my first grade teacher, and then later when I taught with her in Roulette. Even when I saw her in Lakeview, she had a great smile for me.
She touched so many lives in so many ways...and will be remembered so fondly by many.
