Obituary of Gertrude Ferguson

Gertrude Ferguson, age 78, of Bel Air, MD,formerly of Port Allegany, PA, passed away on May 5, 2012 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. She was the daughter of Louise Hurff Repple and Lyle C. Repple. On April 27, 1957 she married Roy Ferguson who passed away November 3, 2000. Surviving is one son, William L. Ferguson (Lyn) of Hinsdale, NY and one daughter, Deborah L. Snyder (Dean) of Bel Air, MD. Also five grandchildren, Brandy Smith and husband, Matt, of Williamsport, PA, Tyler Ferguson and wife, Shelly, of Manchester, NH, Kacy Ferguson of Hinsdale, NY and Kristi and Ashley Snyder both of Bel Air, MD; four great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kameron Smith of Williamsport, PA and McKenzie and Grace Dombeck of Manchester, NH; and her beloved dog, Krash. A graduate of Hornell High School and Russell Sage College in New York, she had a BS Degree in Physical Education which she taught at several schools. She also worked at Ethan Allen for 11 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and loved gardening, yard work and traveling. She was active with her grandchildren and dedicated to family. At her request there will be no visitation. Mrs. Ferguson will be buried in Fairview Cemetery in Port Allegany, PA where a graveside service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Garen Smith, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 12 Church St., Port Allegany, PA 16743.
