Obituary of Margaret Ann Lemon

Smethport - Margaret Ann Lemon, 85, of Rochester, NY, died Tuesday (May 13, 2014) in the Unity Hospital, Rochester, NY. She was born July 11, 1928 in Brookville, PA, a daughter of Benjamin F. and Clara Irene Shick Defibaugh. On Sept. 10, 1949, in St. Elizabeth Rectory, Smethport, she married Leo Melven Lemon, who died November 10, 1995. Mrs. Lemon was a graduate of Smethport High School and worked as a clerk employed by Sibleys Dept. Store. She is survived by: one daughter: Mary Ann (David) Leavenworth of Rochester, NY four sisters: Donna (John) Hordubay of Smethport, PA, Patricia McCord of Farmington, NY, Beverly Defibaugh of Farmington, NY and Elizabeth (Richard) Brown of FL one brother: Howard Defibaugh of Ridgway, PA two granddaughters: Karen and Christine Leavenworth, both of Rochester, NY. Several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Lemon; two sisters, Catherine Cunningham and Reta Eaton, and two brothers, Robert J. and Benjamin R. Defibaugh. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 am in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Smethport, officiating. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 307 Franklin St., Smethport, PA 16749.
