Obituary of Waverly B. Hull

Smethport - Waverly B. Hull, 80, of Smethport, died Thursday (October 30, 2014) in the Kane Community Hospital, Kane. She was born Sept. 9, 1934 in Mt. Jewett, a daughter of Howard and Ina Bell Boyd Schlieff. On Sept. 3, 1955, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, she married Joseph Norman Hull, who died August 18, 1990. Mrs. Hull was in the first class from Mt. Jewett to graduate from Kane in 1953. She attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh after school. Mrs. Hull had worked for Zippo Manufacturing, Smethport Specialty, the McKean County Miner, and was owner and operator of Hull's Lounge & Restaurant in Smethport since 1972. She was a member of American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 Auxillary of Smethport, was a founding member of the Smethport Volunteer Ambulance Service, and was a member of the Zippo Motorcycle Club. She was an avid Harley rider. She is survived by: two daughters: Susan E. Freer and Marsha A. Hull, both of Smethport one son: Joseph N. (Terri) Hull of Ormsby, PA Grandchildren: Denise Hull, Candy Hull-Work, Michelle Hull, Nicholas Freer, Keion and Kyla Hull, and Jennifer Charnisky Great Grandchildren: Evander, Liam, Micah, Malachi, Nakiya, and Drayven Sister in law: Eileen McKean In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Marie Hull on May 9, 1964. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00 pm at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
