Obituary of Robert Joseph Nick

Smethport - Robert Joseph Nick, 80, of Smethport, died Friday (October 31, 2014) at his residence. He was born April 19, 1934 in Cyclone, PA, a son of Robert A. and Mary M. Wolbert Nick. On July 14, 1956, in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, he married Nancy Lee Reese, who survives. Mr. Nick was a 1952 graduate of Bradford High School and attended St. Bonaventure University. He was an accountant for Dresser-Rand of Olean, NY for over 30 years. Bob’s family was his priority in life. He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport and the Holy Name Society. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: five daughters: Patti Joseph-Micale of St. Marys, PA, Lynn Finlan of Lebanon, CT, Karen (Mitchell) Scott of Smethport, PA, Amy Nick of Smethport, PA, and Mary Beth (Tim) Holohan of Smethport, PA two sons: Joseph (Terry) Nick of Elverson, PA and Alan (Deborah) Nick of Smethport, PA Grandchildren: Valerie (Chad) Bundy, Charlie Joseph, Stephanie (Patrick) Sullivan, Jayson Nick, Danielle (Brett) Booth, Brittanie (Andrew) Rounsville, Katie (John) Clancy, Kelley Finlan, Jacob Finlan, Meghan Scott, Randy Scott, Brianna Scott, Amelia Holohan, Abigail Holohan, and Anna Holohan Great Grandchildren: Elizabeth Sullivan, Jack Booth, Eli Booth, and Sadie Rounsville Four brothers: Bernard (Verna) Nick of Stonington, CT, William (Mary Jean) Nick of Venice, FL, Earl (Polly) Nick of Williamsport, PA and John (Pam) Nick of Erie,PA Two sisters: Mary Eidson of Smethport, PA and Connie (Don) Switzer of Rew, PA And many nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and 4 sisters. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Church or Hamlin Memorial Library, Smethport.
