Obituary of Shirley M. Gault

Smethport-Shirley Mansfield Gault, of Smethport, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home (Dec. 13, 2014). Born January 19, 1932, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Lewis and Muriel Mansfield. On October 25, 1952, she married Robert Gault Jr. in the Gold Community Church. She worked at Smethport Elementary School for 20+ years and retired as office manager in 1993. Shirley served as a Girl Scout leader, visited shut-ins/nursing homes and was an active member of the Red Hats Society and United Methodist Church. Mostly, she was devoted to her family. Most of her children: Janel Raymond (Kurt), Margaret Gault McCutcheon (Robert), Lorene Gault de Bil (Victor), Heather Wagenbrenner (Dean), grandchildren: Timothy Woodruff (Annemarie), Jason Woodruff (Melanie), R. Ryan Woodruff (Adrianna), Abigail Raymond, Robby McClung (Wendy), Heather Hurt (Timmy), Chad Hess, Chelsea, Brianna, Cameron, Shannon and Liam Wagenbrenner and great grandchildren: Ivy and Ian Woodruff, Rob, Brian, Danny and Anthony Smith, Sophia, Emma and Joseph Woodruff, Birch Woodruff, Cade McClung, Hailey and Christopher Hurt gathered this past summer for a celebration of life of their beloved family matriarch. She is survived by her brother James Mansfield and sister-in-law Betty Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gault Jr, her brothers: Donald, John and Ted Mansfield and sisters-in-law: Aleta and Joanne Mansfield. The memorial service and visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28th at the United Methodist Church of Smethport, Pa.
