Obituary of Charles William Simmons

Smethport - Charles William Simmons, 82, of Cyclone, died Friday (March 8, 2013) at his daughter’s residence in Cyclone. He was born June 8, 1930 in Eldred, a son of Albert William and Mary Freer Simmons. On June 6, 1953 in Allegheny, NY, he married Rhea Valette Richards, who survives. Mr. Simmons attended Oswayo Valley Schools. He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Simmons was a chemical operator, employed by the Cargill Company of Columbus, Mississippi. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Karen Ann Barksdale of Mississippi, Sherry Lynn Irons of Cyclone, PA, Darlene Marie Weaver of Driftwood, PA one son: Albert Eugene Simmons of Arkansas 14 Grandchildren: Christina Simms, Cindy, Candise, Charlie, and Gene Simmons, Tammy Nowland, Jamie Barksdale, Randy Barksdale, Robert and William Weaver, Amy Irons, Joshua Irons, Leslie Kio, and Kelly Heffner 19 Great Grandchildren, one sister: Dortha Knapp of California, and several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
