Obituary of Martha Irene Marsh

Smethport - Martha Irene Marsh, 69, of Smethport, died Saturday (February 6, 2016). She was born April 16, 1946 in Bradford, a daughter of Ralph and Phillis Record Holzworth, Sr. On May 19, 1979, in Eldred, PA, she married Keith D. Marsh, Sr., who died Oct. 6, 1987. Mrs. Marsh was a 1964 graduate of Bradford Area High School and was a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family. She was a member of the Red Hats, the Smethport Senior Center, the Eldred Twp. Fire Dept., and Women of the Moose of Port Allegany. She also volunteered at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport. She is survived by one daughter: Melissa Irene (Ronald) Galentine of Newport, PA one son: Russell (Kelisa) Marsh of Lexington Park, MD four grandchildren: E.J. (Jessica) Niklas, Keith Myers, Michael (Shelby) Galentine, Nicholas (Bronwynn) Galentine four great-grandchildren: Kayleigh, Grace, Tessa, and Nicholas, Jr. one brother: Ralph Holzworth, Jr. of Bradford, PA and several nieces and nephews In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James A. Marsh, in August, 2005. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 11 at 11:00 am from the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
