Obituary of Nowry S. Hoffman

Port Allegany - Nowry S. Hoffman, Jr., 90, of Port Allegany, died Thursday (October 13, 2016) at the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. He was born Sept. 20, 1926 in East McKeesport, PA, a son of Nowry S. and Sedessa Proudfit Hoffman. On December 17, 1977, in Port Allegany, he married Delores A. Bond, who died August 26, 2014. Mr. Hoffman attended Port Allegany Schools and worked as a mechanic at Frank Butler's Garage, Pierce Glass, and ultimately at Dealer's Repair Co. of Port Allegany, as a television repairman . He is survived by: three daughters: Sharon D. (Philip) Parrish of Dade City, FL, Scarlet D. (Lester) Pardoe of Forksville, PA, Eunice R. (Scott) Freer of Cyclone, PA two sons: Ralph E. Hoffman of Port Allegany and Royce E. (Diane) Hoffman of Martinez, GA one sister: Iva S. Green of Eldred, PA one brother: Franklin D. (Deborah) Hoffman of Zepher Hills, FL Many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Step Grandchildren and Step Great-Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a step daughter, Stephanie M. Thomas, grandson, Kevin A. Donovan, and three sisters. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 11:00 am in the Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany, with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Port Allegany, officiating. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
