Obituary of Shirley E. Warner

Warner, 78, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (January 29, 2017) in the Lakeview Senior Care & Living Ctr., Smethport. She was born April 7, 1938 in Allentown, NJ, a daughter of John C. and Emma VanSchoick Atkinson. On September 22, 1956, in Elkins, MD, she married Leon A. Warner, Sr., who died April 16, 1991. Mrs. Warner attended Pennsbury Schools and worked for many years as a waitress and cook for several restaurants. She is survived by: one daughter: Annette Doheny of Smethport, PA two sons: Wallace Warner of Levittown, PA and Leon Warner, Jr. of Aston, PA 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren two sisters: Lois Krombel of North Carolina and Alice Atkinson of Washington state and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Arthur Atkinson, and one sister, Muriel Patterson. At Shirley's request, there will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date and time. Burial will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
