Obituary of Wayne L. Minteer
Roulette - Wayne L. Minteer, 80, of Roulette, PA, died Friday (May 5, 2017) in the Snyder Memorial Health Care Center, Marienville.
He was born Nov. 12, 1936 in New Castle, a son of Frank Andrew and Ida Mae Bleakney Minteer. On Sept. 24 1955, in Ellwood City, PA, he married Roberta "Bertie" Miller who died on Jan. 15, 2004. On July 15, 2005, he married Grace M. Hall Caldwell in Ellwood City, PA, who survives.
Mr. Minteer attended Shenango Twp. schools and was an equipment operator, employed by the PA Dept. of Transportation for 35 years, retiring in 1999. He was member of AFSCME #2117 of Coudersport, PA and was Chief Stewart for the Union for 10 years. He was also a member of the Keen-Agers Club of Lake Wales, Florida.
He was a member of Chestnut Street Baptist Church, Port Allegany, PA, the Royal Neighbors of America, and was a social member of the Coudersport American Legion.
Wayne was an avid collector of classic cars and had a love for tinkering in his garage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
two daughters: Brenda (Charles "Chuck") Lewis of Halifax, PA and Beverly (Kevin) Furman Gonder of Wiconisco, PA
two step children: Brian (Susette) Caldwell of Wellsboro, PA and Pamela J.(Ronald) Rapp of Coudersport, PA
six grandchildren , seven great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild
one brother: Robert Minteer of New Castle, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, one brother, Evert Lemoyne Minteer and a baby sister, Celia Minteer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 105 N. Main St., Port Allegany, PA. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 9, from 10-11AM in the funeral home, where services will begin at 11:00 am with the Rev. Joann Piatko, pastor of St. Joseph Episcopal Church, officiating, and the Rev. Karl Moore, pastor of Keys to the Kingdom Church of New Castle, PA, co-officiating. Burial will be in the Sweden Hill Cemetery.
