Obituary of Ronald E. Himes

Smethport - Ronald E. Himes, 60, of Clermont, died unexpectedly while at work, Friday (July 7, 2017) in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. He was born Jan. 14, 1957 in Kane, a son of Cecil R. and Dorothy E. McGonigle Himes, Sr. He was married to Peggy S. Webb. Mr. Himes had worked for Temple-Inland, and for Matson's Lumber Co. before working as a truck driver for Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. He was a member of Clermont Fire Dept., where he was a former Chief, the Clermont Sportsman Club, was a Sergeant Township Supervisor, and was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He is survived by: one son, Thomas M. (Melissa Morrison) Himes of Clermont; a grandchild, Carter, on the way; two sisters, Sharon (Richard) Schrecengost of Mt. Jewett and Dorothy "Dottie" (Dave) Kunselman of North East, PA; two brothers, Cecil Himes, Jr. and Donald Himes, both of Clermont; and several nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral and committal services will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 11 AM. Burial will be in Clermont Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Clermont Volunteer Fire Dept., 14183 Wilcox Rd., Mt. Jewett, PA 16740.
