Obituary of Thomas S. Greene

Smethport - Thomas S. Greene, 59, of Smethport, died Monday (July 22, 2013) in the Bradford Manor, Bradford. He was born January 16, 1954 in Port Allegany, a son of Wallace W. and Kathleen N. Brodfuehrer Greene. On February 14, 2013, in the Smethport Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, he married Catherine A. Jones, who survives. Mr. Greene was a 1972 graduate of Smethport Area Junior/ Senior High School and served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. Mr. Greene was a Barker/Fork Lift Operator, employed by McDowell Lumber Co. He was a member of the DAV and the Fraternal Order of Police. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Elizabeth Myers and Stephanie Gifford, both of Smethport, PA, Jennifer Murray of Erie, PA one son: Phillip Murray of Bradford, PA 16 grandchildren three sisters: Elizabeth G. Sweet of Bradford, PA, Rose Marie Jackson of Warren, PA, Theresa Ann Robinson of Shinglehouse, PA three brothers: David W. Greene of Germany, Larry A. Greene of Albion, PA, Raymond E. Greene of Smethport, PA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John P. Greene, and a sister, Karen Schneider. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral services will be held Friday, July 26 at 11:00 am with the Rev. B.J. Simms, officiating. Committal will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport.
