I met "Mac"one summer when I was visiting relatives in Port Allegany, staying with my Uncle John Babola and Aunt Lillian in their house on Vine Street. Mac was living with his older brother and his wife. We went to the fair together and I I went on the Ferris wheel with him--I felt so safe--which I haven't done since. We necked on the Babola's porch the night before my mother and I were going to leave for home, Tarrytown N.Y. This must have been around 1952, and I never saw him again. He was a fine person, and I'm sorry to find him this way. I hope he had a happy life! I'm now 82 and living in a retirement home, thinking about what once was.
