Evelyn loved all sports. She enjoyed NASCAR, the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Pirate's baseball. She especially loved kid's Baseball and Softball games. The East Smethport ball fields are named in her and Glenn's honor. She followed all baseball and softball games in the area, no matter if she knew the children playing or not.

Obituary of Evelyn Kay Cunningham

Smethport - Evelyn Kay Cunningham, 77, of Smethport, passed away Friday (January 12, 2018), at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. She was born March 20, 1940 in Port Allegany, a daughter of LeRoy and Esther Lilly Huey. On February 7, 1959, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, she married Glenn E. Cunningham, who survives. Mrs. Cunningham was a 1958 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and worked for many years in the cafeteria for the Smethport School District. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Church of Smethport. She loved cooking and helping children. She was very proud of her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn loved sports. She enjoyed NASCAR, the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Pirate's baseball. She especially loved kid's Baseball and Softball games. The East Smethport ball fields are named in her and Glenn's honor. She followed all baseball and softball games in the area, no matter if she knew the children playing or not. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: one son: Gene E. (JoAnn) Cunningham of Smethport one daughter: Casey L. (Tim) Raught of Smethport three grandchildren: Dustin Raught, Daniel and Alyssa Cunningham four great-grandchildren: RuBen, Levi, Kaylyn and Trinitee one sister: Alberta (Ray) Kleisath of Smethport and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Rose and Joan Hosmer. In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 AM in the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor of St. Elizabeth Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Lung Association, the East Smethport Baseball/Softball Association, or a charity of the donor's choice.
