Obituary of Joseph J. Segulin

MOUNT JEWETT — Joseph J. Segulin of Mount Jewett passed away on Sunday (April 29, 2018). He was born March 19, 1930 in Lewis Run, a son of Frank and Josephine Ujcic Segulin. On July 16, 1960, he married at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Margaret Napolitan Segulin, who survives. He was employed at Sylvania in Titusville and then chose to go to National Hardwood Academy in Memphis, Tenn. Upon graduating, he was employed by Hardes Lumber Co. which later became Collins Pine. In May of 1995 he retired after 42 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mount Jewett, and the Loyal Order of Moose #460 of Port Allegany. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by Debbie Dougherty of Olean, N.Y.; John Blehar of Potomac, Md.; Thomas Blehar of Sterling, Mass.; and William Crosby, Calif. Other relatives include Rose Cronk and Rosemarie House, both of Portsmouth, N.H.; John Cronk of Stafford, N.H.; June Napolitan of Warren; Michele Napolitan of Erie; Michael Napolitan of Gulph Mills; Mark Napolitan of Warren; Carole Jean Frawley of Fairfield, Conn.; Stephen Ostroski of Colechester, Conn.; and Michael Ostroski of New Britain, Conn. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Margaret Crosby and Frances Blehar, and three brothers, Frank, Tony, and Edward Segulin. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Main Street, Smethport, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Vincent Cieslewicz. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph/St. Elizabeth Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., Smethport.
