Obituary of Ruth Elaine Sobczak

Smethport - Ruth Elaine Sobczak, 87, of Smethport, died Monday (July 2, 2018) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

 

She was born May 4, 1931 in Silver Creek, NY, a daughter of William and Lorraine Hodgson Parker.  On October 21, 1949, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fredonia, NY, she married William Harold Sobczak, who died Nov. 21, 2013.

 

Mrs. Sobczak worked for Welch’s Grape Co. as a lab technician.

 

She is survived by:

Two daughters: Paula (Matt) Wilson of Smethport and Beverley Sobczak of East Aurora, NY

Two sons: Michael (Deborah) Sobczak of Camden, SC and Paul Sobczak of Apopka, FL

Two grandchildren: Andrea (Frank) Rudolph and Kristopher Wilson

Four great-grandchildren: Aaron, Austin, Aidan and Andrew Rudolph

One brother: George Parker of Delevan, NY

Four sisters: Lynda Webber of Douglas, GA, Celestine Barrus of Fredonia, NY, Joyce Rizzo of Birmingham, AL and Marjorie Pierce of Dunkirk, NY

And several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Sobczak.  She was also preceded in death by siblings Elizabeth Mattoon, Wilma Bull, Royal Parker, Donald Parker and Earl Parker.

 

There will be no services. Burial will be in the Highland Memory Gardens of Apopka, FL.
