Obituary of Barbara H. Burgason

Port Allegany - Barbara H. Burgason, 95, of, Kane, formerly of Port Allegany, died Thursday (July 26, 2018) in the Lutheran Home at Kane, Kane, PA. She was born Dec 31, 1922 in Titusville, a daughter of John W. and Florine Folwell Holtz, On June 17, 1950 in Pleasantville, PA; she married Theodore C. Burgason, who died December 2004. Mrs. Burgason was a1940 graduate of Pleasantville High School and a 1944 graduate of Indiana State Teachers College with a bachelor of science in home economics. Mrs. Burgason was employed by Penn Twp. High School, Verona High School, North East High School and Port Allegany High Schools\, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Allegany where she was a Deacon and an Elder. She is survived by Two daughters: Audrey (Dr. Dale) McLaughlin of Kane, PA and Carol (Dr. Christian) Howard of Port Allegany, PA, Two sons: Barry (Carolyn) Burgason of Old Town, MA and Daniel (Jill) Burgason of Hilliard, One brother: John W. Holtz of Pleasantville, PA 9 grandchildren: Lt. Col. Sloan D. (DR. Merritt) McLaughlin DDS, Nels A. (Meghan) McLaughlin, Corinne Howard, C Ross (Jan Himmelreich) Howard, Chase (Jessica) Howard, Emma Burgason, Johanna Burgason, Haley Burgason and Carl Burgason 6 great grandchildren Mrs. Burgason was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Kenneth A. Holtz of Warren, PA. Following her wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the First Presbyterian Church of Port Allegany with the Rev Garen Smith, officiating A time of fellowship and reception will follow the service in the church social room.
