Obituary of June J. Schnepp

Smethport - June J. Schnepp, 92, loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, of Clermont, PA, died Monday (November 4, 2013) in the Bradford Manor, Bradford. She was born June 3, 1921 in Hebron, PA, a daughter of Alva and Lillie Dingman Thompson. On May 23, 1944, in Coudersport, PA, she married James W. Schnepp, who died May 26, 1992. Mrs. Schnepp was a graduate of Coudersport High School and was a devoted housewife tending to the needs of her family and neighbors. She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church of Smethport, was a longtime judge of elections for Sergeant Township and was also a longtime volunteer at Sena Kean Manor of Smethport. She is survived by two sons: James W. (Shirley) Schnepp of Bradford and Frederick J. (Terri) Schnepp of Erie, PA Grandchildren: Doug (Julie) Schnepp, Lori (Earl) Grubbs, Jamie Schnepp, Julie Schnepp, Kristen (Jory) Giger, Sherry (Steve) Kille, Rob (Anita) Kemick, and Mike (Vicki Hart) Kemick ten Great Grandchildren one brother: William Thompson of Coudersport, PA, a niece, and several nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorothy VanPelt and Lena Haskins; and one brother: Roy Thompson. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 am Friday in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at 3:30 P.M. in the funeral home on Thursday.
