Obituary of Beatrice Marion Rossi

Smethport - Beatrice Marion Rossi, 84, of Smethport, died Thursday (November 28, 2013) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford. She was born May 4, 1929 in East Smethport, a daughter of Leslie W. and Ida Bell Prime Reed. On May 7, 1949, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, she married Albert J. Rossi, who survives. Mrs. Rossi was a graduate of Smethport Area High School and had worked for Herzogs, and then as a secretary for the Intermediate Unit #9 of Smethport, retiring after 46 years of employment. She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: two sisters: Geraldine M. Tanner of Surprise, AZ and Barbara A. Rankin of Smethport and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Albert J. Rossi, Jr. on May 25, 1990, two sisters, and 3 brothers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday, Dec. 2, at 10 A.M., in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. A Christian Wake service will be held on Sunday evening at 7:30 P.M. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Hamlin Memorial Library, Smethport, PA.
