Obituary of Gladys Ann Reinard

Smethport - Gladys Ann Reinard, 89, of Smethport, formerly of Crosby, passed away Wednesday (December 30, 2020) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford.

 

She was born July 12, 1931 in Kane, a daughter of Carl E. and Olga E. Johnson.  On Aug. 25, 1950, in Trinity Lutheran Church of Smethport, she married Ronald L. Reinard, who died January 31, 2010.

 

Gladys was a graduate of Smethport High School and worked for Sylvania of Emporium for several years before taking a job at Backus Company of Smethport.  She was employed there for 30 years, retiring in 1993.

 

She was a member of the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 Auxiliary of Crosby and the Norwich Twp. Fire Dept. Women’s Auxiliary.  She was very active in the Crosby community’s local events and associations. 

 

Gladys is survived by:

One daughter-in-law:  Carol Reinard of Smethport

Three grandsons:  Forrest (Brandy) Reinard, Garrett Reinard and Dallas (Jennie) Reinard

Three great-granddaughters:  Evelotte, Emery and Casey

One great-grandson:  Crosby

One sister:  Bonnie F. Walter of Paw Paw, MI

And many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons: Randy Reinard in 1975 and Roger Reinard in 2004; two sisters:  Dorothy Herzog and Shirley Rossi; and two brothers:  Wayne and Kenneth Johnson.

 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no services at this time.  A celebration of Gladys’ life will be held at a future date.  Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove, PA.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Norwich Twp. Fire Dept. of Crosby, the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 of Crosby, or the McKean County SPCA.  Online condolences may be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.
