I still have a wonderful photo of David, Dave Petzold, myself and Jodi Omar taken at the fourth grade science fair at Arnold Ave Elementary School. It was in the R/A that week. It had to have been '76 or '77. Throughout all of our schooling together, I'd always admired David. He was very intelligent and personable. He was always well liked and I always thought he was a great guy. I last spoke to him at our ('85) class reunion in 2000. I am saddened to hear of the passing of he and his wife. My sincere condolences to the Bayline family.

Most brother's could care less about their own brother's friends....that's not the case with David. I've probably met David 3 times in my life and spoke to him 5 times on the phone over the last 20 years...every time I spoke to him, he was "thrilled" to talk to me...he would quiz me on my family and my plans with his brother, Scott. Truly a remarkable person, with a great heart for others...he cared a great deal for his brother and went out of his way to make sure Scott's friends stayed connected with the family.
Scott probably never knew this, so it's important that he knew how special his brother was.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

We remember talking with you while in line at the Phila. airport on our way to St. Kitts. No parent should have to bury their child. It's not fair that you should lose your son and daughter-in-law. We know how you feel since we are still trying to accept the sudden death of our 36-year old son in 2008. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God help you in your future struggles.

Margi Blue posted a condolence
Dear Kathy and Mike,
This last Saturday, Oct 31, I ran into David and Theresa at walmart just a couple hours before their tragic accident. We had a nice conversation and David proudly introduced me to Theresa for the first time. I felt priviledged to have had this opportunity to meet her. Davids parting words were "I'll see you in the office in a few weeks".
My heart sank when I heard about their unfortunate accident, and it is with heavy heart that I want to express my deepest of sympathies. At this time of tragic loss and deepest sorrow there is little words can do, but may the sincerest concerns of others and myself help comfort you. I know how close a bond you had with David. I know he will be greatly missed.
Thank you and I thank God for allowing me the opportunity to know David.
Margi Blue (you'll remember me as Dr. Stevens nurse at the olean medical group)

I didn't know David in real life, but I knew him on the internet, from the Penn State Blue White Illustrated. David posted almost every day, and his posts were always a must read. He was a wonderfully sweet person, and didn't have a mean bone in his body. He withstood a lot of teasing on the board, but he was good-natured and laughed with us. I and many others on that board are stunned and saddened, and we will miss him terribly.
May you find comfort in the wonderful life that he lived, and his 50 yard line seat for eternity.
