Obituary of Doris A. Maynard

Smethport - Doris A. Maynard, 85, of Smethport, died Friday (January 28, 2011) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford. She was born June 2, 1925 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of Robert and Marion Bloomster McKean. On May 20, 1946, in Niagara Falls, NY, she married Willis "Woody" L. Maynard, who died Sept. 3, 1974. Mrs. Maynard was a 1943 graduate of Smethport High School and had been the Cafeteria Manager at the Smethport Elementary and High Schools for many years. She retired in 1990. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Smethport, was very active in volunteering at the Pink Elephant resale shop in Smethport, and was a past member of the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 Women's Auxillary in Smethport. She is survived by four sons: Dennis (Barbara) Maynard, Paul Maynard, and Robin (Sandra) Maynard all of Smethport, PA, and Michael (Patricia) Maynard of Port Allegany, PA Grandchildren: Edward, Woody, Derek, Natalie, Nathan, Andrea, Lance, and Brandon Maynard, Erin Carlson, Jennifer Bates, and Susan Haggard several Great Grandchildren. four brothers: James and William McKean, both of Smethport, Bernard McKean of Ashtabula, OH, and Thomas McKean of Wellington, OH., and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, Robert McKean. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, with the Rev. Bob George, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Smethport, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
